Adoption Timeline - Complete

March 12,2005 After much research, thought and prayer we made a firm decision that adopting a little girl internationally was the right choice for our family.

March 18,2005 Selected our adoption agency.

March 23, 2005 Sent our initial application and fees to our agency.

April 1, 2005 Initial orientation call with agency.

April 1, 2005 Secured a local agency to do our homestudy.

April 8-9, 2005 Shared our news with our families.

April 15 & 22, 2005 We had our physicals.

May 19-29, 2005 Home study visits.June 9, 2005 Home study sent to agency.

June 13, 2005 Sent in our application to CIS for Homeland Security Clearance (I-1600-A)

June 17, 2005 All 3 of us applied for our passports.

July 7, 2005 Went to get fingerprinted for the I-1600-A

August 26,2005 Recieved CIS approval

October 1, 2005 Sent completed Dossier to agency (A dossier is the stack of official papers you must compile to send to the country for them to approve your adoption and place a child in your family.)

October 27, 2005 LID (Log In Date - this is the date the government recognizes your paperwork and this is the day that referrals work off of)

waiting...waiting...waiting....

July 28, 2006 Went to have fingerprints retaken because our FBI fingerprinting will expire before we go to.

November 3, 2006 - Referrals are out through 9/8/05.

December 21, 2006 Had our physicals re done and sent paperwork to our local agency to extend our US Government papework which will expire in February and that is definitely prior to our trip.

March 2007 Referrals are out through 10/24/05....getting closer and closer, we must be next because our log in date is 10/27/05.... We pray for Referral in April - Travel in June...

March 29,2007 We got news today that our referral is in the mail - on it's way to our agency. We should be getting our long awaited phone call on Monday or Tuesday ! Praise God....!

April 5,2007 The 3/29 news was not accurate. We were told today it was a mistake and we should get our referral the first week in May. We are still trusting in God's timing and His perfect plan.

May 1, 2007 Got THE call !

May 2, 2007 We got the pictures and saw here face for the first time. We are in love !
